| Benefits: |
|
 |
Real-time continuous monitoring |
 |
More accurate readings (versus bolt-on
sensors) |
 |
Low cost solution compared to retrofit
costs for installing load cells. |
 |
Eliminates material contamination risks
because tank does not need to be opened to measure
contents |
 |
Reduced manpower risk – eliminates the need for manual measurements |

Using strain gauge-based transducer technology, itm can design and
implement a real-time system to continually monitor load (stress) responses of
the supporting members on an array of structures. This type of monitoring system
has proven to be beneficial in applications such as silo (level) monitoring,
hopper clinker detection, structural analysis, preventive maintenance, and
failure analysis.
itm’s solution involves installing strain gauges directly to a
structure’s supporting members to provide the highest measurement accuracies.
Custom signal conditioning electronics are installed at the gauge area to
condition and amplify the signals. The components are then sealed in a
waterproof instrumentation case to protect them from environmental hazards for
long-term performance and reliability.
Information from the sensors can be displayed on a local device and/or
interfaced with a PLC/PC or DCS.
